Christ College is a great place to visit. This is the college which is on the same street as the Grand Arcade. The grounds of the college are open to visitors but the buildings are not. The opening times are limited because it is very active in its role as a centre for education.
I have been though this college during the Bridge the Gap walk.
It was originally opened as Gods-House in 1437 where King's College is but was moved to its current location in 1448. It was renamed as Christ College in 1505 by its foundress Lady Margaret Beaufort. After surviving the reformation, it became the leading Puritan colleges in Cambridge. There were a few scholars that tried to use Natural History to prove Christianity and their studies were used until the 20th century when Charles Darwin came along.
