Buying a house in the UK can be done but the process varies from the way its done in the States.

Here is an overview of how the process works:

1. Find out what your buying power is by finding out how much you will be able to spend on a house. This can be done by going to a bank. They will discuss the mortage options available to you. This maybe 3 times your income.
2. .Find a house. An estate agent can help you this. You might have to visit a few estate agents as they only show the houses listed with them unlike in the States.
3. Agree on a price.
4. Get a mortgage.
5. Move in.
